Review the final job amount before charging the saved card.
  • Saved customer cards
  • Confirm the final amount
  • Payment tied to the job
Keep the default card and automatic billing setting with the customer.

Your last check comes before the charge.

An extra item, a discount, or a payment already collected can change the balance. Review the finished job first, then charge the amount still owed.

  • Choose the customer's default saved card.
  • Confirm the job items and total before charging.
  • Cancel the confirmation if the job needs a correction.
  • Keep recurring membership fees separate from job completion billing.

The job is done. The payment should be close behind.

You cleaned the gutters, packed the truck, and moved on to the next stop. A saved card gives you a way to collect the balance without another phone call asking the customer to find their invoice.

  1. Save the customer's card

Add a card to the customer record and choose the default card. Turn on billing when the job is marked Completed for that customer.

  2. Finish and review the work

Mark the job Completed. Check that every item is there and that the amount due is right before confirming the charge.

  3. Keep the payment with the job

The remaining balance is charged to the saved card. The payment stays attached to the customer and job so your office can see what happened.

Questions about Automatic Billing

What to know before you put it to work.

Does it charge every customer's card automatically?
No. Billing on completion must be enabled for the customer and a card must be saved. You then confirm the job items and total when marking the work Completed.
Can I correct the amount before charging?
Yes. Cancel the confirmation, update the job, and review the total again before completing it.
Is this the same as a membership payment?
No. Automatic job billing collects a job's remaining balance when the work is completed. Memberships bill their recurring fees on the plan's schedule.
What if the customer wants to pay another way?
You can use the regular invoice payment flow instead. Invoice links can offer the payment methods available for that customer and your connected Stripe account.
